Homeruns- B.Herman(3rd), B.Boyle(6th)

Pat Malone pitched a complete game and Woody English had 4 hits and 3 RBI as

the Chicago Cubs beat the Brooklyn Dodgers by a score of 9 to 3.

In the top of the 6th inning Chicago went on top for good when they tallied 3

runs on 3 hits. Chicago banged out 10 on the afternoon.

Malone(8-6) was the winner allowing 3 runs for the game. Les Munns(5-4) was

the loser. He pitched 7 and 1/3 innings giving up 6 hits and 6 walks.

Homeruns- C.Hafey(10th)

Bob Brown pitched a 3 hitter and Wally Berger smacked 2 triples and had 2 RBI

as the Boston Braves outscored the Cincinnati Reds 6 to 3.

Boston had 3 runs cross the plate in the bottom of the 2nd inning when they

had 3 base hits. That early scoring was all that Brown(3-4) needed. Boston

had a total of 11 hits for the game.

Paul Derringer(7-11) was hit with the loss. He surrendered 4 runs and 8 hits

in 6 innings.

and 3 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings.

'Moore gave us exactly what we needed tonight,' Jimmie Wilson said. 'When he

threw the fastball he threw it for strikes. They were really fooled by his

change. Most of the time he had them chasing it.'
