Philadelphia wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning when they tallied 5 runs on 3 hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. Philadelphia finished with 12 hits in the victory. The game was deadlocked at 1 after nine full innings. Chicago won the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Stan Hack hit a single. Augie Galan was next and he stroked a single. Cuyler then lined a single making Chicago the victor and beginning a joyous home town celebration. Chicago rapped out 9 hits for the afternoon. The victory went to Warneke(23-8) who went the distance allowing 1 run. The loss was charged to Larry French(16-14). He allowed 2 runs and 8 hits in 9 and 1/3 innings.

He went 2 and 1/3 innings allowing 3 hits and no walks. Pittsburgh threatened in the 9th but Chicago was able to put down the rally. Bud Tinning was credited with his 6th save. Steamboat Struss(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He pitched 7 and 2/3 innings giving up 9 hits and 4 walks.
