Center fielder Wally Berger launched 2 homeruns and had 8 RBI as the Boston

Braves destroyed the New York Giants by a score of 12 to 2 at Braves

Field.

Berger provided much of the offense. He delivered a single plating a run in

the 1st inning, smashed a two-run homer in the 3rd inning, doubled with all

three runners coming home in the 4th inning and cleared the fences for a

two-run home run (his 22nd of the season) in the 6th inning. Boston had 14

victorious over reeling Philadelphia Phillies, 1 to 0.

Brooklyn scored what proved to be the only run of the contest in the 4th

inning. Danny Taylor lined a one-base hit. After an out was recorded, Tony

Cuccinello stepped in and he doubled scoring the run. Philadelphia

threatened in the 9th but their rally came up short.
