The score was knotted at 3 after nine innings. Detroit was victorious in the















10th inning. After two were out Hank Greenberg opened up the rally as he was















hit by a pitch. Ray Hayworth next to the plate and he laced a single. Marv















Owen then doubled which was good for two runs. Both teams totaled 10 on the















afternoon.































Chief Hogsett(1-1) picked up the victory, allowing 1 run in 1 and 2/3 innings.















Elden Auker earned the save, his 1st. Lefty Gomez(7-6) was the loser. He















pitched 10 innings giving up 10 hits and 3 walks.

slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.































The score was tied at 3 after nine. Detroit won the hard fought contest in















the 10th inning. Pete Fox lined a one-base hit. Fox was running on the next















pitch and he stole second. Mickey Cochrane then slapped a base-hit scoring















the run. Cochrane took second on the throw. Detroit had a total of 7 hits















for the game.































The win was credited to Chief Hogsett(2-1) who went 2 innings allowing no















runs. The losing pitcher was Johnny Murphy(4-4). He surrendered 7 hits and 5















walks in 10 innings.

The losing pitcher was Milt Gaston(4-5). 'He was moving it around and















spotting it very well.' Jimmy Dykes said. Marcum pitched a great game. He















deserves all the credit.'

hits for the game.































Earl Whitehill(10-3) absorbed the loss. He gave up 4 runs and 9 hits in 7
