The home town fans were very appreciative of the fine hitting performance







provided by Davis. He delivered a solo blast in the 2nd inning and lifted







one out of the park for a two run home run (his 5th of the season) in the 7th







inning. Chicago went down quietly in the 9th.















Hansen(5-4) finished the game allowing 2 runs in the victory. Lon







Warneke(14-5) was hit with the loss. He was hit hard and gave up 11 hits and







4 walks in 7 innings.

finish what he started and was credited with a complete game as the New York

Ott had a great day at the plate. He had the crowd cheering his every move.







He lashed a single bringing in two baserunners in the 1st inning, cleared the







fences for a two-run home run in the 7th inning and blasted a two-run home







run (his 22nd of the season) in the 8th inning. New York kept the







scorekeepers busy in the 1st inning when they had 6 runs on 6 hits. New York







totaled 19 on the afternoon.















Fitzsimmons(13-6), allowing 1 run for the game, picked up the victory. Benny







Frey(3-10) was tagged with the loss. 'Actually, I didn't feel that







comfortable at the plate today' Ott said after the game. 'Despite that, I'm







happy with the results!
