Auker(15-8) put on a good performance. He didn't allow much, just 9 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings improving his ERA from 4.55 to 4.30. The pitchers took over after the 2nd inning as neither team was able to score again. Jack Russell(9-6) was the losing pitcher. He gave up 8 hits and 1 walk in 7 innings. The score was knotted at 6 after nine innings. New York won the hard fought contest in the 11th inning. Murphy laced a one-base hit. Frank Crosetti came to the plate and laid down a sacrifice bunt. Rolfe then lined a base-hit scoring the run. New York banged out 9 on the afternoon. The victory was credited to Murphy(11-7) who went the distance, allowing 6 runs. Monte Pearson(16-12) suffered the loss. New York continued their winnings ways improving their record to 80-60. They are 9-1 in their last ten games.
