Both teams were tied at 6 runs apiece after nine innings. Pittsburgh won the game in the 10th inning. After an out was recorded, Lloyd Waner initiated the scoring spurt when he smacked a single. Paul Waner followed and he laced a base-hit. After another out, Arky Vaughan stepped in and he drew a walk to load the bases. Suhr was up next and he doubled scoring two baserunners. Wally Roettger stepped into the box and stroked a single giving Pittsburgh the victory and sending the 6,243 home-town fans home happy. This was the kind of game that many fans love as the lead changed hands 5 times. Waite Hoyt(11-9) got the win allowing no runs in 1/3 of an inning. Tom Zachary(3-9) was the loser in relief.
