Giants outscored the Boston Braves 10 to 1.















New York took the lead for good in the top of the 3rd inning scoring a single







run using 2 hits. New York finished with 13 hits in the victory.















Fitzsimmons(15-6) allowed 1 run on the game. Huck Betts(6-8) took the loss.







He gave up 9 runs in 7 innings of work. 'I thought it was my best







performance in a long time,' said Fitzsimmons. 'I had good command early in







the game. I had my control and composure and everything went well.'

6,116 fans watched an exciting game at Ebbetts Field. The Brooklyn Dodgers







topped the Philadelphia Phillies by the slimmest of margins, 4 to 3.















The game was deadlocked at 3 after nine full innings. Brooklyn came out on







top in the 10th inning. Buzz Boyle drew a walk. Lonny Frey stepped up to







the plate and he stroked a base-hit. Danny Taylor then slapped a one-base







hit resulting in an exciting win for Brooklyn and a wild post-game







celebration by the home town fans. Brooklyn rapped out 8 hits for the







afternoon.















Les Munns(6-4) went 1 inning allowing no runs for the victory. The losing







pitcher was Curt Davis(8-10). He gave up 8 hits and 5 walks in 9 innings.















Brooklyn now has a record of 43-52. Philadelphia has a record of 41-56 after







the loss.

Kolp(2-3) was charged with the loss in relief. He was knocked around,
