The Boston Braves won by the slimmest of margins, 3 to 2. Both teams were tied at 2 runs apiece after nine innings. Boston came out on top in the 10th inning. Wally Berger drew a walk. Hal Lee followed and he laced a base-knock. Pinky Whitney then laid down a sacrifice bunt. Bill Urbanski came up and he lined a one-base hit giving Boston the win and sending the home town fans into a frenzy. Boston managed 10 in their victory. Ben Cantwell(5-5) went 3 innings allowing no runs for the win. The losing pitcher was Bill Lee(7-5). He pitched 9 and 1/3 innings giving up 10 hits and 5 walks. Brooklyn scored 2 runs in the bottom of the 3rd inning when they had 4 base hits. That scoring would be all that was needed. The pitchers took over after the 3rd inning as neither team was able to score again. The win went to Tom Zachary(2-6) who allowed 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings. Dutch Leonard recorded his 2nd save. Benny Frey(2-9) was hit with the loss.
