York Giants by a score of 7 to 4 at Ebbetts Field.

innings. Les Munns relieved and was untouched by New York as he recorded the



save, his 4th.







Roy Parmelee(6-6) took the loss. The win by Brooklyn is a very welcome one as

Boston jumped on top of Philadelphia in the 7th inning scoring a single run on



2 hits. Pinky Whitney laced a base-knock. After an out was recorded, Ed



Brandt came up and he lined a one-base hit, and an error was also committed,



scoring the run. Boston rapped out 7 hits for the afternoon.







Brandt(10-14) picked up the victory, allowing 2 runs in 8 and 2/3 innings.



Brandt got help from Jumbo Jim Elliott who was credited with his 1st save.



Phil Collins(12-12) was the loser. He surrendered 4 runs and 7 hits in 8



innings.

scored 2 runs on 3 hits. That was all Derringer(10-14) needed. Cincinnati



had a total of 12 hits for the game.







Ralph Birkofer(13-8) was given the loss. He got hit pretty hard, allowing 12



hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Cincinnati now has a record of 46-79. With



an impressive recent record of 8-2, Pittsburgh hopes this will only be an



isolated loss - followed by another nice run.
