Auker(11-7) gave a fine effort for Detroit. He allowed 6 hits and 4 walks in 9 innings. The teams had been locked in a scoreless duel until the 7th inning. Lefty Stewart(3-13) suffered the loss. He pitched 7 innings and surrendered just 4 hits and 1 walk. ST.
