| In 1934, Grove suffered the only "off year" during his career. He had just joined the Red Sox, having spent his entire career to date (1925-1933) with the A's. During the spring of 1934, the Red Sox discovered Grove had a sore arm that would haunt him for the season. After 1934, Grove returned to dominant form, and pitched for Boston until 1941. |
