13 to 3.
The Philadelphia fans didn't appreciate the big day Klein had. He blasted a
two-run home run (his 14th of the season) in the 1st inning, lashed a single
in the 3rd inning and stroked a one-base hit bringing in a run in the 6th
inning. Chicago lit up the scoreboard in the 3rd inning which saw them plate
3 runs on 6 hits. The Chicago offense poured it on, scoring in 7 of the 9
innings.
Warneke(22-7) allowed 3 runs on the game. Syl Johnson(4-7) suffered the loss.

Baker Bowl where the Chicago Cubs beat the Philadelphia Phillies by the score
of 5 to 3.
In the 4th inning Chicago scored 2 runs with the help of 3 hits. After an out

for the afternoon.
The victory was credited to Bush(13-11) who went the distance, allowing 3
runs. Phil Collins(14-13) was the loser. He got hit hard, allowing 12 hits
and 3 walks in 8 and 2/3 innings.
'I always am most impressed when a pitcher finds a way to win even without his
best stuff,' Charlie Grimm said after the game. 'Bush did not have command
of his pitches most of the afternoon, but he proved he really knew how to
pitch!'
