Chicago never recovered after New York took the lead in the 2nd inning scoring one runner. New York had 13 hits for the afternoon. Schumacher(15-10) was the winner allowing 1 run for the game. Guy Bush(11-10) was the loser. He allowed 3 runs and 6 hits in 6 innings. ST. Bill Delancey was a seemingly constant irritant to the hometown fans as he provided much of the offense for the visitors. He lashed a single in the 2nd inning, singled in the 3rd inning and depressed the partisan hometown fans with a grand slam home run (his 12th of the season) in the 4th inning. St. Louis banged out 16 on the afternoon. It was the 7th shutout of the year for Dean(19-8). Dutch Leonard(11-5) took the loss. He allowed 10 hits and 2 walks in 3 and 2/3 innings. Philadelphia scored 2 runs in the 2nd inning with the help of 3 hits. The big moment was provided by Ethan Allen who made the home-town crowd a happy bunch when he doubled plating two runs. Philadelphia finished with 16 hits while Cincinnati ended up with 8. Snipe Hansen(7-7) went 8 innings allowing 3 runs for the victory. Hansen got help from Cy Moore who earned his 3rd save.
